Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission follows the submission instructions listed below.

Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

The author is an undergraduate student at Columbia University or has graduated within the last two years.

The submission fits Iggrot's Mission Statement, furthering the study of Jewish identity and/or Jewish religion.
Submission Instructions
All submissions must:
- be formatted in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced
- be submitted in .doc or .docx format
- be between 5 and 25 pages long
- include an abstract
- adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style
- be submitted by their first author
- be written in English (words in other languages are acceptable, if relevant, but these should be transliterated to English and italicized (further guidance will be provided by editors, should a paper be selected))
- have been written by Columbia or Barnard undergraduates, or those who graduated within the previous two academic years
- not have been published before in any other journal
- not contain any images or graphics, unless approved by the Editorial Board.
Additional Rules:
- Papers written for classwork are acceptable, but this should be disclosed during article submission.
- Individuals may submit up to two articles per issue, but only one article can be published in a single issue by a given author.
- If a paper is not selected for publication, authors may resubmit it for publication in later issues (provided it has not been published elsewhere in the interim).
Academic Articles
Iggort Ha'Ari only publishes Academic Articles. In addition to meeting the stylistic and practical requirements above, Academic Articles generally engage with Jewish scholarship and articulate a clearly-defined thesis.
