In honor of the 50th anniversary celebration of Dr. James H. Cone’s Black Theology and Black Power and the commemoration of 400th years Africans have been in the Americas, we are excited to introduce the Black Theology Papers Project website.

The Black Theology Papers Project is an online repository housed at Columbia University that aims to preserve and promote the intellectual heritage of black theology. The journal will publish an annual issue featuring papers presented by the Black Theology Unit of the American Academy of Religion. Adam Clark, current co-chair and Andrea C. White, past co-chair of the AAR Black Theology Unit are the editorial team, along with Josef Sorett, Associate Professor of Religion and African American Diaspora Studies at Columbia University.  The Black Theology Papers Project aspires to be a premiere scholarly and teaching resource for people interested in cutting-edge research on black theology.
