The Columbia Journal of Undergraduate Mathematics’ second annual thesis issue continues to, as we had originally hoped for and planned, provide a record for the excellent work done by graduating seniors for their capstone projects. As in the first iteration of our thesis issue, the works showcased here are less accessible to the wider undergraduate audience than those of our general issue. All the same, they are meant to serve as a touchpoint for undergraduates intending to write expository senior theses, in that they can gain a good sense of the scope of such a project. In pursuit of the goal of showcasing the various interests of the graduating student body, we often anticipate submissions drawing from a wide range of mathematical fields. However, this does not pre- clude the possibility that we receive many idiosyncratic works originating from the same overarching field. Case in point, all of our submissions for this year’s senior thesis edition were in some way interwoven with the study of geometry.
