About Us

Founded by Columbia undergraduates in 2002, CJLC is an interdisciplinary forum collected around literature, culture, history, and politics. Though numerous outlets exist for creative writers, opportunities for undergraduate students interested in criticism or theory are few. As such, CJLC accepts submissions from undergraduate students and recent graduates internationally. As an undergraduate publication, CJLC attempts to examine the world informed by academia but not subsumed by it. Our hope is that students who react critically to societal events and dynamics, through the use of literature or literary analysis, may find a space to do so at CJLC.
