Abstract

This Foreword reflects on the Strengthened Bonds: Abolishing the Child Welfare System and Re-Envisioning Child Well-Being Symposium held in 2021. It draws connections between the panels at the Symposium and the Articles in this issue, describes the emerging themes of activists for child welfare, and directs future research by summarizing concrete steps that can be taken to abolish the child removal system.

Author Biography

Tina Lee, University of Wisconsin-Stout

Dr. Tina Lee is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She received a Ph.D in Anthropology from The Graduate Center at the City University of New York, NY, and focuses her research on intersectional issues of child welfare, race, poverty, and gender.
