Louise Barrière is a PhD Candidate at the Université de Lorraine (France). In her dissertation, entitled “From punk-feminism to ‘multisubculturalism’: Trajectories of the French and German Ladyfest scenes”, she draws on ethnography to approach gender, sexuality and race in a predominantly white feminist DIY music scene. Besides, she serves on the editorial board of Volume! The French Journal of Popular Music Studies, and teaches ethnomusicology and research methodology to musicology and performing arts undergraduate students.
