Runchao Liu

Runchao Liu is a PhD candidate in Communication Studies at the University of Minnesota. Liu specializes in critical-cultural media studies through the lens of popular music. Her research interests include feminist and queer theory, critical race theory, sound, affect, performative activism, and intercultural communication. She is currently working on her dissertation project titled Sounding Orientalism: Sonic Affect, Musical Radicals, and Countercultural Troubles.
