Submissions Checklist (Info Needed for Proposal Form)

    1. Contact information
    2. If the proposer is the chair or a solo presenter
    3. Title (10 words)
    4. Abstract (500 words + 3 bibliographic citations)
    5. Presentation Format (see below)
    6. Bio (50 words)
    7. A/V (PowerPoint or Keynote; confrm clips embedded in slides)

*Note: If there are multiple presenters, add Name, Contact info, and Bio for each.

Presentation Formats

    1. Single Paper: academic conference format
    2. Show-and-Tell: large lecture format PowerPoint short presentation of visual material
    3. Preconstituted Panel: 3–4 papers
    4. Workshop: multiple participants + moderator/organizer; see Jump Start PubPub for Workshop ideas-in-progress + contact info for organizers
      Ex: Italian American Workshop, Cross-Race Casting Workshop, Silent Shanghai Workshop

  • Panel and Workshop sessions are parallel.
  • Plenary sessions and screenings are single-strand.
  • Conference language: English.

Heads Up: A/V Requirements for Conference

1. Bring Keynote or PowerPoint/pptx on USB Drive
2. Embed streamed clips (mp4, mov, wmv) in slides
3. Limit links or videos that require Internet connection
4. Use Animation feature on pptx to limit amount of text onscreen as bullet points & to coordinate point by point with your paper presentation narration
