Studies in Applied Linguistics & TESOL (SALT) is pleased to announce a special issue on L2 vocabulary, co-edited by Ashley Beccia and Mark Romig. The special issue is scheduled for publication in June 2027.

We are casting a wide net for this issue and invite submissions that explore L2 vocabulary through various lenses, including discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, usage-based approaches, and other perspectives. We welcome empirical studies, literature reviews, conceptual papers, forums, teaching reflections, and lesson plans from all members of the AL&TESOL community, including master's and doctoral students, faculty members, and alumni.

Lesson plans and teaching reflections must not exceed 4,000 words. All other submissions must not exceed 8,000 words.

Manuscripts are due September 15, 2026.

Authors are encouraged to review the journal’s submission guidelines before submitting.
