Current Musicology is now accepting submissions on a rolling basis. Manuscripts may be submitted at any time and will be reviewed on receipt; we will continue publishing two issues per year. Separate calls will be issued for special issues and thematic features.

Founded in 1965 at Columbia University's Department of Music, Current Musicology was the first peer-reviewed music journal to be edited and published by graduate students—a model it has sustained for sixty years. The journal publishes scholarship across historical musicology, music theory, ethnomusicology, sound and media studies, popular music studies, cultural studies, and music education, and welcomes interdisciplinary work. It publishes the work of senior and advanced scholars alongside that of graduate students and early-career researchers. Current Musicology is an English-language publication.

The journal accepts articles and reviews of recent books. Articles should fall between 5,000 and 8,000 words, inclusive of footnotes; book reviews, between 2,000 and 3,500 words. Authors wishing to submit work outside these ranges are invited to contact the Editors-in-Chief, Sasha Doster and Marco Donato Tomassi, at current-musicology@columbia.edu.

Submission guidelines and the submissions portal are available under the Submissions tab at https://currentmusicology.columbia.edu/.
