Fall 2022 Speaker Series: Conversation with Amit Chaudhuri (9/13/22)

August 23, 2022

The Columbia Journal of Asia (CJA) will welcome Indian novelist, literary critic, and musician Amit Chaudhuri on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 8–9pm EST for the first of its Fall 2022 Speaker Series. The event will feature a reading and discussion of Dr. Chaudhuri’s newest book, Sojourn, and his engagement with themes of diaspora and Asian antiquities, with time for audience Q&A.

CJA is an open-access, peer-reviewed platform for undergraduate creative and academic pieces on Asia and the Asian diaspora. Developed at Columbia University, CJA addresses an urgent need for representation and understanding of Asian narratives—not in isolation, but as an integral part of the study of humanities and social sciences in academic and artistic circles. Our most recent issue can be found at cja.library.columbia.edu.

The event is open to all! Columbia University affiliates are invited to attend in-person on campus, while a Zoom livestream will be available to the public. Information about the event location and Zoom link will be shared with registrants closer to the event. Please register in advance at tinyurl.com/cja-amitchaudhuri, and reach out to columbiajournalofasia@gmail.com with any questions.
