If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via email at columbiajournalofasia@gmail.com.
We are currently accepting applications for the following roles:
Academic editor: Academic editors work with the Managing Editor and Deputy Managing Editor to select and revise academic notes and articles for publication. In addition to editing for the main publication, article editors will also be expected to contribute to editing short-form pieces for the CJA website on a semi-regular basis throughout the semester.
Creative editor: Creative editors work with the Managing Editor and Deputy Managing Editor to select and revise creative pieces for publication.
Production editor: Website designers and production editors are integral to the maintenance and publication of the journal. Website designers will be responsible for regular maintenance of the CJA website through Columbia Libraries, primarily involving publication logistics for short-form pieces and yearly issues. Additionally, production editors will be responsible for copyediting and typesetting all CJA pieces for final publication. Depending on your skills, you may be assigned various design-related responsibilities, such as designing advertising material.
Outreach team member: Outreach team members work with the Director of Peer Review to contact/solicit peer reviewers, organize speaker and panel events, and facilitate the promotion of journal activities and presence to the Columbia community and beyond.
Peer Reviewer: To apply as a peer reviewer, you must be a graduate student. Peer reviewers will be responsible for reviewing and commenting on selected submissions, and assessing the articles' content accuracy, integrity, and argument originality.
If you are a graduate student, you are eligible to apply as an outreach member or a peer reviewer only.
