Spring 2023: Call for Submissions

The Columbia Journal of Asia (CJA) is currently accepting submissions for its second issue, due by 11:59pm EST on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023. The priority submissions deadline is 11:59pm EST on Saturday, January 28th, 2023. We welcome both research papers ("notes" of 1,500-4,000 words and "articles" of 4,000+ words) and creative works (visual art, poetry, prose, and translations of under 2,000 words). Undergraduates from all universities, majors, tracks, and class years are encouraged to submit.

CJA is an open-access, peer-reviewed platform for academic and creative pieces relating to Asia and the Asian diaspora, launched in partnership with Columbia Libraries and faculty in the departments of History, MESAAS, EALAC, and Gender Studies. It addresses an urgent need for meaningful representations of Asian narratives as an integral part of the humanities, arts, and social sciences.

Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and all applicants will hear back about the status of their submission by late February. Read more about CJA and submit at cja.library.columbia.edu. Any questions can be directed to columbiajournalofasia@gmail.com.
