Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). / L'auteur (les auteurs) doit (doivent) attester qu'une soumission à EJAB n'a pas été publiée auparavant, ni n'a été présentée à une autre revue pour examen.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format. / Le fichier de soumission doit être au format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word ou RTF.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided. / Le cas échéant, les URL des références doivent être fournies.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. / Le texte doit être à simple interligne, utiliser une police de 12 points et utiliser des italiques plutôt que des soulignements (sauf avec les adresses URL). Toutes les illustrations, figures et tableaux doivent être placés dans le texte aux endroits appropriés, plutôt qu'à la fin.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. / Le texte respecte les exigences stylistiques et bibliographiques énoncées dans les directives aux auteurs.

Submission Instructions

Annotated bibliographies must be written in English or French and contain at least 75 numbered entries, based on the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition).  Each bibliography must have a brief abstract, an introduction and/or preface.  Bibliographic essays must be written in English or French, as well.  Essays should discuss at least 50 titles and be 3,500 to 5,000 words in length. Bibliographies and essays with citations in Amharic, French, Fulfulde (or Pular), German, Hausa, Portuguese, Spanish, Wolof, Yoruba, or any other Romanized script languages must include diacritics and ideally any non-Roman script characters. Bibliographies and essays with citations in Arabic are also accepted.

Les bibliographies annotées doivent être rédigées en anglais ou en français et contenir au moins 75 entrées, basées sur le Chicago Manual of Style (17e édition).  Chaque bibliographie doit avoir une introduction et/ou une préface. Les essais bibliographiques doivent également être rédigés en anglais ou en français.  Les essais doivent porter sur au moins 50 titres et compter entre 3.500 et 5.000 mots.  Les bibliographies et les essais avec des citations en allemand, amharique, espagnol, français, fulfulde ou pular, haoussa, portugais, wolof, yoruba ou toute autre langue d'écriture romanisée doivent inclure des signes diacritiques et, idéalement, des caractères d'écriture non latins.  Les bibliographies et les essais avec des citations en arabe sont également acceptés.
